In water solutions of Al-Fe-humus podzols of spruce and pine forests (Kola Peninsula) exposed to industrial pollution, the qualitative and quantitative composition of low--molecular organic acids was analyzed. Among the acids identified in soil water, citric acid predominated. Its concentration was 7-315 µmol l-1 (50-100% of the total content of the acids analyzed). The intraprofile and parcel differences and seasonal dynamics of the citric acid content in industrial air polluted soils were determined. The concentrations of citric acid and its mass fluxes differed at different stages of technogenic digression.

Low--molecular organic acids, dissolved organic matter, soil water, citric acid, Kola Peninsula, technogenic pollution.
