The regeneration dynamics of fir-spruce stands upon their selective cutting were studied. An imitation model describing the stem diameter increment taking into account site conditions, a distance to neighboring trees, and their diameters (at a height of 1.3 m) were studied. The model was verified based on the natural data obtained on sample plots in the fir-spruce stands. The model suggested allow describing the dynamics of the wood stock, density, increment, and tree diameter distribution, etc. in dark coniferous stands. On the basis of modeling various scenarios for selective cuttings, optimal species, felling scope and, periodicity of cuttings taking into account characteristics of stands are proposed.
