Models that allow assessing slash reserves based on the results of their counting in linear transects are proposed. The initial data are the amount and dimensions of slash fragments that are crossed by the linear transect or travel line. The model result is the estimation of reserves and the carbon content and in the slash calculated per unit area. Two methods were used for the development of the models: analytical (the formula for calculation was derived) and simulation (the simulation model of slash distribution over an area was developed). A program support was elaborated for both models to facilitate their application by users. The method of continuous accounting over the area studied was used to reveal the conformity of the empirical data to the estimates obtained by the models. The error value as compared to that of the method of continuous accounting does not exceed 10%.
