G. N. Ogureeva, S. V. Dudov, T. Yu. Karimova Ecosystem diversity and protection of Siberian pine-broad-leaved forests of the Manchurian Natural Area // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2012. No 2. С.47-60.

Methods for the ecological-geographical analysis of the Manchurian Natural Area to assess the contemporary state, monitoring, and conservation of the gene fund of Siberian pine-broad-leaved forests are discussed. The biome of Siberian pine-broad-leaved forests occupies the central place in the Manchurian complex of nemoral plant formations. Pinus koraiensis Sieb et Succ is the main edificator and a key element of biocoenotic relationships in forest ecosystems. Mountain coniferous-broad-leaved forests are the basis of the altitudinal-belt spectra of the mountain part of the Manchurian Natural Area; they determine their regional peculiarities. Climatically substituting types of Siberian pine forests of three geographical facies characterize each region. The main attention is paid to the conservation of biodiversity in the Siberian pine-broad-leaved forests. A brief characterization of natural reserves, national parks for the conservation of Siberian pine-broad-leaved and broad-leaved forests of the Manchurian complex in Russia, China, and Korea is given. The optimal ways for the conservation of Siberian pine-broad-leaved forests in the transboundary territories should be relied on the coordinated management of national natural resources based on the united ecological-geographical system taking into account the regional specific features of forests.
