I. L. Milyutina, N. E. Sudachkova, L. I. Romanova Activity of the Antioxidant System in Coniferous Stands of Different Density // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2012. No 3. С.69-76.

The effect of intraspecific competition on biometric parameters, the content of photosynthetic pigments, glutathione, ascorbic and dehydroascorbic acids, hydrogen peroxide, and the activity of antioxidant enzymes - superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, ascorbate peroxidase, and catalase - were investigated in needles of Pinus silvestris L., P. sibirica Du Tour, Larix sibirica Ledeb, and Picea obovata Ledeb during growing periods. Under the intraspecific competition, some features of oxidative stress were shown to detect in the needles of all the species studied. The level of the peroxidase activity can be a marker of the stress state of coniferous trees.

Intraspecific competition, coniferous species, antioxidant system, chlorophylls, carotinoids, oxidizing stress. .
