M. K. Sapanov Solution of Ecological Problems of Forest Cultivation in Arid Regions in Works of the Dzhanybek Research Station (Experience of 60 Years) // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2012. No 6. С.71-78. A desk review of key publications about investigations conducted at the Dzhanybek Research Station is presented. It highlights the emerging environmental issues and solutions for creation of sustainable artificial forest ecosystems in the northern Caspian semidesert. The possibility of optimizing the moisture supply of plants on different soil types with snow accumulation and spring meltwater runoff has been studied. Biogeocenotic relationships between spontaneously emerging zoological components that significantly improve the vitality of the stands are described.
