V. I. Kravtsova On Interpretation of Northern Forests on Cosmic Images of Super-High Resolution // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2013. No 1. С.56-65. The development of technologies for cosmic survey of super-high (sub-meter) resolution and their wide use make new opportunities for research. Images of key plots in thinned larch forests on the Puttorana Plateau obtained from the GeoEye satellite were analyzed. An optimal scale for the interpretation of forests on images of super-high resolution is shown to be 1:1000. The map of vegetation types compiled for the test plot reproduces a complex spatial pattern of northern forests and tundra-taiga ecotone.
