P.P. Popov Population-Geographical Variability of Cotyledon Number in Norway Spruce and Siberian Spruce Seedlings // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2013. No 1. С.9-15.

The number of cotyledons varied in a cone of an individual Picea abies and P. obovata seedlings and in cones of trees grown using mixed seed lots. Ranges of the variation (4-5 to 9-11 (12)) and of the average number of cotyledons (6.0-8.5) in the populations were mainly determined by the seed mass. Within the ranges of Picea abies and P. obovata, a distinct geographical variability of their populations according to the average number of cotyledons is observed.

Spruce, seedlings, number of cotyledons, variation, correlation between cotyledon number and seed mass, ranges of populations..
