I.V. Tikhonova Dwarf Pine under Extreme Conditions of the Shirinsky Bor in Khakassia // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2013. No 2. С.22-30.

Dwarf pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) trees growing on cliffs in one of the steppe pine forests (Khakassia) were investigated. These dwarfish trees are characterized by the better association of all the taxation characteristics of stem and crown along with their high morphological variability. The contribution of them to the population norm of response was assessed according to the stem and crown phytomass elements and volumetric characteristics of the arboreal layer. Despite the low significant role of this group in the increment of biological production, dwarf pine trees may have a selective advantage under pessimal growth conditions.

Morphological variability, annual increment, adaptive norm of response, phytomass..
