A.G. Krylov Chernevaya taiga of South-Western Altai: coenoflora, age dynamics and productivity // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2014. No 1. С.13-20.

One of the succession pattern of chernevaya taiga after a wildfire is the formation of a mixed composition stand, followed with increasing role of fir, up to the fir dominance in the old-growth forest. Upon the fir stands degradation the role of mountain-ash which could be a subedificator of phytocenose for decades often increases. Fluctuations of communities are accompanied by the occurrence of the microhabitat mosaic, formed by thickets of undergrowth, growth of grains and tall grasses, occurrence of high ferns synusia, and mosses synusia on dead-wood. The mosaic of synusia and microhabitats is associated with the new stages of forest formation process preserving Siberian pine and spruce in the ecosystem.
