T.A. Sukhareva Seasonal dynamics of Siberian spruce foliage chemistry in Kola Peninsula // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2014. No 2. С.27-37.

The features of vegetative and seasonal dynamics of chemicals of Siberian spruce foliage (Picea obovata Ledeb.) at the Northern limits in Kola Peninsula. The regularities of annual dynamics of spruce foliage chemistry in northern taiga were found out for the first time. We deduced that the maximal accumulation of N, Ca, Mn, Al is characteristic for the spruce foliage in the middle and end of the vegetative period. High concentration of K and P were marked in spring during the transition of plants to vegetation phase. Seasonal pattern of plant food elements in assimilating organs demonstrates changes in their concentration ratio. The labile elements ratio N:P:K has maximal variation during the year. The increase in the nitrogen share during decreasing of phosphorus and potassium was found out during the vegetative season. The decrease in nitrogen with simultaneous growth of potassium concentration is observed in autumn. The correlations between temperatures of air and soil, and foliage biomass changes is found out.
