Svintsova V.S., Kuznetsova N.F. , Pardaeva E.Yu. Drought impact on regenerative sphere and sustainability of Scots pine pollen // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2014. No 3. С.49-57.

The Scots pine pollen formed during optimal 2011 season and dry 2010 and 2012 season was studied citologically and embriologically. Sustainability of pollen of 2011 and 2012 was estimated under several regimes of cultivation at 20, 27, 40, 45, and 50 degrees Celsius. Male regenerative sphere was resilient to hydrothermal stress during initiation and differentiation of strobili germs. The early drought of 2012 have narrowed the reaction norm to stress of criteria analyzed. This was found from germination of pollen at high temperatures. The reasons of massive mortality of seed generation and complete fall of cones during the 2010 and 2012 droughts are dicsussed.
