Specific features of the wild fire effects on the forest regeneration are considered for different forest-growing conditions in the lower Angara River basin. Renewal and development of forest stands after fires are found to be variable and mainly determined by the type of habital (site) and characteristics of forest fires and their recurrence. In the region under study, some features showing the substitution of the southern taiga for the subzone of grass southern taiga forests are displayed, as well as a reduction in the forested areas due to their transformation to large laylands and burns.
