Skupchenko L.A. Ontogenesis of Barberry Species in Their Introduction in the Republic of Komi // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2010. No 1. P. 38-45 (in Russian). The data on biology of 12 species of Berberis of different geographical origin in the middle taiga subzone (Republic of Komi) are presented. In the course of ontogenesis, some species were revealed to reach the generative age on the fifth year of life. Generative organs of the species studied, infructescence percentage, and seed filling are characterized. The results obtained evidence the real possibilities to replenish the cultural flora of the republic with new Berberis species and to grow them from seeds.
