Falin A. Yu. Economically Valuable Characteristics оf Three Willow
Species in Southern Karelia // Forest Science (Lesovedenie). 2010. No.
5. P. 31-35 (in Russian).
Variability of economically valuable characteristics of three willow species (Salix
pentandra L., S. caprea L., and S. myrsinifolia L.) from
southern Karelia were studied and compared. Тhе content and quality of tannins,
the wood tissue length, the ash content in wood, and the conventional wood
density (S. pentandra and S. caprea) were determined. Тhе data
obtained demonstrates the possibility of the initial materials as the basis for
willow selection.
