А method for the determination of stand transpiration according to current increment and stock of stem wood and the whole phytomass was developed. The method is based оn the Hilmy's suggestion about the division of water consumption into two streams. One of them is water discharge for the maintenance of existing phytomass and the other one, for its increment. The basic factors determining specific water consumption for the phytomass growth were revealed. Appropriate formulas for pine, spruce, and birch were proposed. А method for the estimation of the current stem wood increment was suggested.
